Why Simplifying Your Thinking Is Killing Your Content
Most people are trying to simplify their content and that’s exactly why it’s not landing.
Here’s what’s actually happening.
When you try to “simplify” too early, you strip out the nuance that gives your ideas weight.
You lose the depth.
You lose the connection.
You lose the part that actually makes someone stop and think.
I know this because I’ve struggled with it myself.
My brain doesn’t work in straight lines.
It moves fast. It connects ideas quickly. It sees patterns across multiple layers.
The challenge isn’t thinking.
It’s translating that thinking into something others can understand.
So for a long time, I tried to compress everything.
Make it cleaner. Shorter. Easier.
And every time I did, it lost something.
Then I changed how I worked.
Instead of trying to simplify my thinking…
I captured it.
Messy. Unfiltered. Raw.
Then I used AI to organize it.
Not replace it.
Not rewrite it from scratch.
But help me shape it into something that still carried the original depth.
That’s the difference most people miss.
AI isn’t there to think for you.
It’s there to help you express what you already know.
If you don’t have the depth first…
AI won’t create it.
It will just package something shallow more efficiently.
And that’s exactly what we’re seeing everywhere right now.
